Yes it is absolutely gorgeous, if only we could have snow all year round without it getting to the freezing point. Much nicer than the bare ugly ground ;) Charmaine

Troy, have not lived in the bigger city like Toronto since at least 1989, and back in them days I use to love going downtown. I use to check out the windows and love all the Christmas decorations — aw for the spirit of Christmas.. Charmaine

Wow that was creepy. That nice silver car ya walked by I saw the exact same one like 3 hours ago when I went for a walk.I love X-Mas season in big cities.Always looks awesome. All we got around here is one highway mainly lol.

Charmaine, that is so sweet. I can just imagine it. You never see anything liek that here. The Santa installation at the Eaton’s Centre is a complete zoo at Christmas. Everyone just looks stressed out and exasperated. The Elves all look like they just arrived from a crack house and need another fix. I imagine you must have done one of these in the past. Please send it to me if it’s not too much trouble. Thanks for sharing that. That’s a very nice thing that they do in Pickering. :) Dave

Dave what I find even more special about our village tree lighting each year, is the parents bringing their young children out to it all bundled up. The kids yes lighting up when they see Santa arrive, and then he hands out candy canes to all of the children.. this is oh such a very special moment to capture. :) Charmaine

Hi Charmaine! That sounds very nice! Sort of enchanting. I’m afraid Toronto has long forgotten how to do enchanting. I suspect it’s something only smaller owns and villages are capable of doing. I live just off Yonge St., almost exactly midway between Lawrence and Eglinton, one street below Sporting Life. It’s a 10 minute walk north of Eglinton on Yonge. Dave :)

Hey Ethan well I see you changed your name on your profile lol that is why the wife called you cast! Well I have a perfect memory thank goodness. Anyways I see you entered that futureshop contest hahah and yes I hope you win. Hope we do not get too much snow as too hard for me to get around. But the snow is beautiful and makes for great photos and videos. Luckily we did not get that much snow like you guys did. First snowfall last year was on the 22nd here. :) David

LrdDarkFyre, so where are you that you don’t get snow often or at least around Christmas. Yes I too wish for you to get snow around Christmas? ;) Charmaine

  10. DandCVideos November 21, 2008 10:21 am

Hi Carolyn, yes snow is quite lovely with the night light. So when does the winter come in California where you are? Charmaine

  11. DandCVideos November 21, 2008 10:21 am

Winter I can enjoy some parts of it, just when we get blizzards, or when it gets too cold for me to breath I do not like. But the beauty of the first snow fall is so lovely. :) Charmaine PS You ever coming back to Ontario, Ottawafella?

  12. LrdDarkFyre November 21, 2008 10:21 am

Great vid, I wish it would snow here but so far nothing. I so cant wait for it to snow. I hope if nothing else we get a lil snow for Christmas we have not had snow on Christmas in like 2 years, but it surely is starting to feel like Christmas here.

  13. DandCVideos November 21, 2008 10:21 am

Ottawafella, at one point I too was curious about all the cheering, so shut off the video and went across to check it out. We have a new hairstylist that just opened up a couple of weeks ago. This was their grand opening I discovered and they were having a “Fashion Show”… Charmaine

Cateye72, I did zoom the video mode at one point… :) and thanks and Seasons greetings to you and yours too. Charmaine

Pickering Village always gets into the spirit of Christmas every year. Closer to Christmas like around the 15th or 19th, they will have a Christmas Tree lighting ceremony with singing of Christmas carols and Santa for the kids just the end of our little street.. :) Where in Toronto are you Dave if you do not mind my asking :) Charmaine

  16. DandCVideos November 21, 2008 10:21 am

Hi “Cast”, I just looked out the window of my apartment and there is no more snow falling, and the roads have been plowed obviousily during the night. “But”, there is enough snow still covering the roads around…. it was beautiful though.. :) Charmaine

  17. Castsurved November 21, 2008 10:21 am

Yeah it was snowing like crazy yesterday.. now there’s no more snowfall.. but there’s still snow on the ground.

  18. FrancisRidley November 21, 2008 10:21 am

Pickering Village looks really pretty. They do a nice job with the decorations. It’s much nicer than the concrete jungle in Toronto. Thanks for helping me to get into the Christmas spirit. :) Dave

  20. ottawafella November 21, 2008 10:21 am

By the way, what was all the cheering about?

  21. ottawafella November 21, 2008 10:21 am

The other day at a party here in Singapore, I was saying that I do not miss the winter. However, that lovely video of Pickering’s first snowfall makes me miss Ontario. I must say that your enthusiasm adds to it!
